We had another great long weekend of racing at Beaver Creek, CO February 21-25 for the 2024 Denver Sports Lab FIS Masters Cup and Western Regional Championships! For the third year in a row, racers competing for FIS Masters Cup Globes and Western Regional Jackets convened at Beaver Creek for the US stop on the FIS Masters Cup Tour. The event hosted 127 racers from 12 countries.

The 2024 A Racer’s Edge U.S. Ski & Snowboard Alpine Masters National Championships will be held for the first time ever in the Central Division on February 5-10, 2024 at Granite Peak Ski Resort in Wausau, Wisconsin. The local resort and town are pulling out all the stops to make this an incredible and unforgettable event.

The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Foundation is fortunate to have many dedicated and passionate supporters. Sadly, John Bloomberg, a Park City-based trustee and avid USSA Masters Racer, passed away last week.

We are sad to report that the 2020 event must be canceled. The restrictions currently in place for COVID-19 do not for allow for a large race event. A big thank you to Meri Stratton for all her work on planning this year's event and for the past 31 years. It is truly a labor of love for our sport and the masters community. We look forward to the 32nd Annual SFN in 2021.

There are still several summer camps running this summer at Timberline. Here's a listing for the next few months. If you make it to Mt. Hood, be sure to stop by and say hi to Fuxi in Government Camp.

All U.S. Ski & Snowboard members turning 17 years of age during the season, or older, are required to complete one or more of the following online requirements.

  • SafeSport Training
  • Background screening
  • Introduction to Avalanches training 
  • Coaching Fundamentals Course (for non-certified coaches)

Please note, all requirements are currently biannual with the exception of SafeSport training, which is required annually.
