ASPEN, CO (Mar. 16, 2017) – Travis Ganong (Squaw Valley, CA) led the way for the U.S. Ski Team in a challenging super G at the Audi FIS Ski World Cup Finals on another sunny, warm, spring-like Colorado day.

“It’s nice to be done with the season and also, it’s nice to be able push one last race and have a good result,” said Ganong, who finished eighth in his final World Cup race of the season and now heads off to Sugarloaf, Maine, for the U.S. Alpine Championships March 25-28.

Freestyle aerials skiing is an intricate sport. Athletes speed down a steep, icy pitch at 68 kph with 160 cm skis firmly attached to their feet, vaulting off a 14-foot-high kicker and soaring 65 feet into the air. If that’s not enough, they then flip and twist their bodies with no semblance of perspective before sticking a landing on a steep, chopped up snowfield – hang time of 3.5 seconds, one of the longest in any acrobatic sport.

DENVER (Jan. 26, 2017) – One of the U.S. Ski Team's most progressive new equipment suppliers, Swiss ski manufacturer Stckli, has been honored by the Team and SnowSports Industries America (SIA). Stckli was presented with the Doc DesRoches Award at the SIA Snow Show Thursday (Jan. 26) for its promotion of the U.S. Ski Team and its athletes.

Stckli is the newest U.S. Alpine Ski Team ski supplier, joining in 2014 and supporting a half-dozen athletes including Olympic champion Julia Mancuso and World Cup veteran Stacey Cook.

SOELDEN, Austria (Oct. 25, 2015)—In front of a packed crowd, Ted Ligety (Park City, UT) reminded ski racing fans of his giant slalom skills at the opening Audi FIS Ski World Cup race, taking his fourth win in Soelden, Austria. It was a stacked podium, with Thomas Fanara of France and Marcel Hirscher of Austria finishing under two-tenths behind Ligety, in second and third place respectively.
