The Alpine Sport Committee pursuant to U.S. Ski & Snowboard Bylaw Article VI (c) will work with the staff of U.S. Ski & Snowboard to develop plans, strategies, and policies for submission to the president and CEO for the development and operations of alpine skiing and to assist U.S. Ski & Snowboard in the operation of the alpine skiing programs consistent with FIS regulations, U.S. Ski & Snowboard bylaws and The Ted Stevens Olympic and Amateur Sport Act.

VAIL/BEAVER CREEK, CO (Feb. 7, 2015)—In front of an enormous crowd of 20,000 screaming fans, the U.S. packed three guys into the top ten on Birds of Prey. Travis Ganong (Squaw Valley, CA) grabbed an incredible silver medal at Saturday’s FIS Alpine World Ski Championships downhill. Steven Nyman (Sundance, UT) was fourth and Andrew Weibrecht (Lake Placid, NY) was ninth.

Ganong was surrounded by the Swiss on the podium, as Patrick Kueng took first place and Beat Feuz third.

PARK CITY, UT (Nov. 19) – The Sprint U.S. Grand Prix has a long legacy of creating Olympic champions. This year many of them will return to compete on the 2014-15 tour, including 2014 Olympic champions Maddie Bowman, Joss Christensen, Kaitlyn Farrington, David Wise and Sage Kotsenburg. Over $400,000 in prize money will be awarded at the three Grand Prix tour stops. The season opener will be held at Colorado’s Copper Mountain Resort. California’s Mammoth Mountain will host stop number two and Utah’s Park City Mountain Resort will host the tour finale.

CANCUN, Mexico (June 11, 2016) – American ski racing fans are in for another exciting season with the global alpine ski racing tour making four stops in the U.S. in 2016-17, culminating with the Audi FIS Ski World Cup Finals at Colorado’s Aspen Snowmass resort. The final schedule was confirmed at the annual International Ski Federation (FIS) Congress on Friday, June 10, with 16 alpine tour starts being awarded to the USA. Killington Resort, Beaver Creek Resort and Squaw Valley will each host World Cup stops before the season ends at the Audi FIS Ski World Cup Finals in Aspen.
