We are sad to report that the 2020 event must be canceled. The restrictions currently in place for COVID-19 do not for allow for a large race event. A big thank you to Meri Stratton for all her work on planning this year's event and for the past 31 years. It is truly a labor of love for our sport and the masters community. We look forward to the 32nd Annual SFN in 2021.

There are still several summer camps running this summer at Timberline. Here's a listing for the next few months. If you make it to Mt. Hood, be sure to stop by and say hi to Fuxi in Government Camp.

All U.S. Ski & Snowboard members turning 17 years of age during the season, or older, are required to complete one or more of the following online requirements.

  • SafeSport Training
  • Background screening

Please note, Background Screening is required every two seasons and SafeSport training, is required every season.

Short-term members and those alpine masters who are not in regular contact with or in a position of authority over athletes are excluded from these requirements.

This section provides FIS applications for competitors participating at the FIS level. You must have a full competitor membership in your sport to register for FIS. Short-Term, General and Non-Scored Athletes are not eligible to hold FIS licenses. Those registering for an Alpine Masters FIS license must hold a U.S. Ski & Snowboard Alpine Master's membership.

The 2020 Phillips 66 National Speed Series overall champions are the top competitors in the overall group rankings for each of the Group A/B  (age 18-64) men, Group C women, and Group D (age 65+) men based on total world cup points accumulated in the all races of the series. Races were held at Sun Valley, Stratton, Mammoth, Aspen Highlands, Northstar, Granite Peak, West Mountain, and Schweitzer. Prior to the cancelations we had a record 22 speed series races on the schedule!

Race events have a team captain's meeting and inspections so we can become familiar with the venue and terrain before jumping into the course. If we happen to have a day where the race is canceled due to too much snow, we still need to learn about the terrain before venturing out. Whether skiing inbounds or in the back country, knowledge is power when it comes to avalanche and skier safety!
