Scott Patterson made his world cup debut in the 2015-2016 season in Nova Mesto, Czech Republic as the Supertour leader. The following season he scored his first World Cup points in South Korea and followed this up with several other top-30 results in the 2016-2017 season. Prior to world cup racing, Patterson had success at World Junior Championships and U23 World Championships with multiple top 20 results. He also excelled on the SuperTour circuit and U.S. National Championships. Patterson is known as a distance specialist and focuses on 15k races and longer.  He trains with Alaska Pacific University Nordic Ski Center.

First Tracks
Born in McCall, Idaho, Patterson began skiing when he was learning to walk. Competitive racing for him started a few years later and was accelerated when his family moved to Anchorage following his father’s career.

Off the Snow
Patterson graduated from University of Vermont in 2014 with degrees in mechanical engineering and mathematics. He currently works part-time at Coffman Engineers in Anchorage doing mostly oil and gas consulting work. Patterson spends him time racing trail running races and exploring the wilderness in Alaska.
