Universal Sports Presents Winter Bowl

LOS ANGELES, CA (Jan. 24) – This weekend Universal Sports Network will feature the famed Hahnenkamm races in Kitzbuehel, Austria featuring Ted Ligety (Park City, UT) and women's technical events in Maribor, Slovenia with Lindsey Vonn (Vail, CO) during “Winter Bowl,” the final Audi FIS Alpine World Cup weekend before the World Championships. From Friday, Jan. 25 through Sunday, Jan. 27, Universal Sports Network will broadcast full coverage of both alpine stops as Steven Nyman (Sundance, UT) seeks his second downhill victory of the season and Mikaela Shiffrin (Eagle-Vail, CO) guns for her third slalom victory this season.
 
Winter Bowl coverage begins on the slopes of Kitzbuehel with the men’s super G on Friday at 9:00 a.m. ET.  Kitzbuehel action continues on Saturday at 10:30 a.m ET with the 73rd Hahnenkamm downhill on the trecherous Streif, followed by slalom on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. ET.  Calling the action will be veteran play-by-play announcer Steve Porino and analyst Doug Lewis, a two-time Olympic team member and five-year veteran of the Skiing World Cup circuit.
 
UniversalSports.com will also stream LIVE both the men’s and women’s World Cup skiing competitions, as well as other Winter Bowl events, beginning Friday at 5:30 a.m. ET.  In addition, UniversalSports.com will have daily video highlights and news coverage of all the Winter Bowl action, including figure skating, bobsled, speed skating and snowboarding, as America’s 2014 Olympic medal hopefuls look to build momentum one year out from the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia.
