Ganong 22nd in Lake Louise Super G

LAKE LOUISE, AB (Dec. 1) – Despite another day of flat light and a late start number, Travis Ganong (Squaw Valley, CA) powered through light snow to finish 22nd at the Audi FIS Alpine World Cup super G opener Sunday. Two-time World Cup overall champion Bode Miller (Franconia, NH) finished right behind Ganong in 23rd, while Norway’s Aksel Lund Svindal reeled in the victory. Next, the men head to Beaver Creek, CO Dec. 6-8 for the annual Audi Birds of Prey race week featuring super G, downhill and giant slalom.

HIGHLIGHTS

• Despite another day of flat light and a late start number, Travis Ganong (Squaw Valley, CA) put down a solid run to finish 22nd at the Audi FIS Alpine World Cup super G opener on Sunday, the top result for the U.S. Ski Team.
• Two-time World Cup overall champion Bode Miller (Franconia, NH) finished right behind Ganong in 23rd with another promising result in his first super G after missing the 2013 season.
• Norway’s Aksel Lund Svindal reeled in the victory for his fifth super G victory in Lake Loiuse.
• Four-time World Cup giant slalom champion and reigning super G World Champ Ted Ligety (Park City, UT) was knocked off course in the difficult visibility and did not finish.
• Next, the men head to Beaver Creek Dec. 6-8 for the annual Audi Birds of Prey race week featuring super G, downhill and giant slalom, which will air live on Universal Sports, NBC and NBCSN.
