Arquit Named to Board of Trustees
PARK CITY, UT (Aug. 27) – Kevin J. Arquit, Senior Partner at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP has been named to the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Team Foundation's Board of Trustees. The announcement was made by Bill Marolt, president and CEO of the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA), the national governing body for Olympic skiing and snowboarding.
Known as one of the top anti-trust lawyers in the United States, Arquit has a unique background that will be of great value to the Board. He was recently named one of the "10 Most Admired Competition Attorneys" by Law360. Arquit is also the Chairman of the Board of generation – a nonprofit organization dedicated to service learning among young children. He is also Chairman of the Board of The Adirondack Museum, a member of the Board of the Adirondack Council and a member of the Board of the Points of Light Institute.
"An avid skier for most of his life, Kevin is invested in our organization from the grassroots all the way to the elite level," said Marolt. "His continued support in Foundation events like the New York Ski and Snowboard Ball and Gold Pass receptions proves his commitment to our Best in the World vision."
In leading up to his nomination as a trustee, Arquit distinguished himself not only with his investment in support of the organization but also in support of individual athletes. He has been a part of the USSA’s vital athlete mentoring program for years and has helped lead many athletes into success after their career on the Team concluded.
"Watching the success of USSA athletes from the grassroots level to the elite level is something really special," said Arquit. "These athletes are the best in the world and I am looking forward to being a part of that success. I will aim to continue the mentoring program and be a help to these athletes in any way that I can."
Arquit lives with his wife and four children in New York, and finds time to ski at Killington and Vail.
