Freeski Athlete Membership

Freeski Athlete Membership

It’s important your athlete has the correct membership for his/her sport. Please review the options below and the Freeski Membership & Benefits outline to determine which membership is best for your child.

SafeSport and Background Screening Requirements

U.S. Ski & Snowboard Members who are turning 18 years of age during the season or older who are in regular contact with or in a position of authority over athletes are required to complete periodic background screening and annual SafeSport training prior to being issued a U.S. Ski & Snowboard membership. (Short term members are excluded)

Introduction to Avalanches Course Requirement:

  • The Introduction to Avalanches Course is completed through your online account

    • Members 17 years of age and older must have their own online account to gain access to the course

    • Linked members will not have access to this course

  • A link to the Introduction to Avalanches Course will be provided on the confirmation page

Option 1 – General Membership: AGE 0-17 // $30

The Freeski general membership is a great option for your athlete (restricted to those age 17 and under) to train with his/her club throughout the season. However, the general membership does not allow for competition in U.S. Ski & Snowboard sanctioned events.

Option 2 - Non-Scored Athlete Membership: AGE 18 and over // $100

Freeski Non-Scored Athlete does not include access to U.S. Ski & Snowboard points list. The Non-Scored Athlete membership provides access to all levels of U.S. Ski & Snowboard scored and non-scored competitions at the local, divisional, regional and national level.

Option 3 – Competitor Membership:

Freeski Competitor membership provides access to all levels of U.S. Ski & Snowboard scored and non-scored competitions at the local, divisional, regional and national level. Competitor memberships include scoring on national ranking lists as well as International Ski Federation ranking lists where appropriate (with additional FIS license). This membership is required for FIS registration and FIS level competitions. May compete in aerial and mogul events only.

Freeski Competitor U11 and under $65

Freeski Competitor U13 $100

Freeski Competitor U15 & over $170

Option 4 – Short-Term Membership: AGE 0-17 // $35/day
U.S. Ski & Snowboard short-term memberships are designed for those 17 and under who wish to participate in a single event. Short-term memberships are available for all sports.

Short-Term Membership Guidelines:

  • Short-term memberships are $35 per day and may be purchased for up to five consecutive days
  • Limit of one short-term membership purchase permitted per person per season
  • Additional participation will require an upgrade to regular membership
  • The amount previously paid for the short-term memberships will be applied towards the upgrade during the same season

If you are still unsure of which membership to purchase please contact your child’s coach or club for directions. Or contact Member Services:
