So What is Freeski Anyway?
Freeski is a specific type of alpine skiing, which involves tricks, jumps, and terrain park features, such as rails, boxes, jibs, pipes or other obstacles. This form of skiing resulted from the growth of snowboarding when skiers said, 'I can do that' and combined freeskiing the progression of freestyle skiing. In addition, Ski Cross, where racers compete four at a time down a course with jumps and banked corners, is also part of the freeski discipline. Currently, there are three Olympic freeski events: Ski Cross, Halfpipe and Slopestyle.
