6 Things You Didn't Know About Nina O’brien

  • 1. Nina won the 2019 NorAm overall title, and was first in slalom, first in giant slalom, first in super-G, third in alpine combined, and sixth in downhill.
  • 2. In 2019, Nina scored her first World Cup points at Killington, grabbing 23rd place and then followed that up with a 26th place at Kronplatz, Italy.
  • 3. As a 17-year-old National Training Group (NTG) athlete in 2015, Nina wowed the crowd when she snagged the national title in giant slalom at U.S. Alpine Championships in Sugarloaf, Maine.
  • 4. Nina has won seven national titles: super-g, slalom, alpine combined, parallel slalom (Waterville Valley, N.H., 2019), slalom, super-G (2018), and giant slalom (2015).
  • 5. She is majoring in Economics and learning German at Dartmouth.
  • 6. Her favorite career memory so far is scoring her first points at Killington. "It was pretty cool to be there with so many friends and east coast ski fans, it kinda felt like I got to share the moment with everyone."
