BIO

Nina O’Brien started skiing out of Palisades Tahoe where she participated on the Mighty Mite program. O’Brien began her racing career on the West Coast with Team Palisades before moving back East to attend Burke Mountain Academy. O’Brien was quickly noticed as a top skier and joined the National Training Group (NTG) before she was officially named to the Stifel U.S. Alpine Ski Team in 2016.

In 2019 O’Brien won the NorAm overall title, she is also an eight-time national champion. Since her time on the team O’Brien has competed at the 2022 Olympics, she is also a member of the Team Event that won gold at the 2023 World Championships.

O’Brien has three other siblings, all who ski raced. Her older sister Audrey raced for Dartmouth College, her younger brother Christopher skied on the Harvard Cross Country Team, and her youngest brother Preston is still ski racing.

"I didn’t quite bring it across the line on the second run [in Cortina's GS], but I’m really happy. I’m glad I went for it. I was definitely pushing the whole way down and I made some good turns. It’s actually still my best GS finish ever—a good day!"
