- 1. Caldwell comes from a family of cross country skiiers. Her grandfather was John Caldwell, a former Olympian and the author of "The First American Guide to Cross Country Skiing."
- 2. She was the first U.S. skier to win a classic sprint on the World Cup circuit.
- 3. She has won two World Cups, one in Seefeld, Austria, and one in Oberstdorf, Germany.
- 4. Caldwell has eight World Cup podiums under her belt.
- 5. Sophie was a five-time All-American at Dartmouth College
