Hailey Langland had quite the season in 2016, one that catapulted her to the spotlight at just 15 years of age. She landed the first ever Cab double cork 1080 to win X Games big air in 2017 and made her first Olympic team at 17 years old. Though she comes from the popular surf town of San Clemente, Langland now calls Mammoth Mountain her snowboard home turf. She trains there under coach Ben Wisner alongside teammates (and good friends) Chloe Kim and Maddie Mastro.
Langland began snowboarding at the age of five at Bear Mountain Resort in Southern California. Langland's father was a sponsored rider who wanted his children to have the opportunity to share his love for the sport. Her first contest came at the age of seven and by 13 she was on the athlete list at the Mammoth Mountain stop of the Revolution Tour, where she placed seventh.
Langland is crazy busy with her snowboard schedule, but in her downtime, she likes to make music--she plays ukulele, guitar, piano and is hoping to pick up the violin. She stays busy with her homeschool studies, but she also likes to hang out with her friends, paint, and draw. Oh, and surf...at least when it's warm--this girl is not a fan of wetsuits.
