Parents

Parents and guardians play a vital role in a child's athletic development. Parents introduce their children to skiing and snowboarding, helping them to develop a lifelong love of sport.

As a child grows in their athletic ability, parents are their advocate and their behind-the-scenes support. Parents invest an extraordinary amount of time and resources in order for their children to compete in skiing and snowboarding.

Inthe References section, you'll find information on athlete Pipelines and Criteria. Each of these sections provides parents and guardians with more information on how to help their child grow as an athlete and navigate the snowsports world. The Training Systems include basic long-term athlete development concepts that parents should understand (will help provide perspective for any sport your child may be involved in), specific challenges for ski and snowboard parents and how to work through them and what to expect from your child in skiing and snowboarding.
