Central Division Alpine Projects

Purpose Statement:
To produce the best alpine ski racers in the world at the developmental, sub-national team level by offering complementary cooperative training with Tri-Regional, Rocky/Central Regional, Central Divisional and club training programs/plans.

Goals:
1. To assist management, athletic training, and competition performance programs of the top Central Division Athletes.
2. To establish and conduct an athlete talent detection and development system that tracks and measures the performance and performance characteristics of top regional racers at various chronological points in their ski racing development.
3. To contribute as productively, professionally, and fully possible in the achievement of the USSA Mission of being the best nation in ski competition in the world.

 

Central Division Projects

Nov 2-5 - Copper Mountain, Colorado - GS Camp

A progression on the basic technical and tactical approaches that can take your GS to the next level...geared towards nominated Central All-Stars and Team Central Athletes

Dec 2-3 - Granite Peak, Wausau, WI - Pre-Season Free Ski and Drills Camp

Geared towards those U8-U14's looking for their first on-snow time of the season, a 2-Day camp emphasizing drills, focusing on pressure, edging, rotary, and balance including some all-around ripping free-skiing!

Dec 28-29 - Mt. Ripley, MI - GS Skills Camp

Followed by two days of Scored and Non-Scored GS races, we will spend two days working through fundamentals as well as gearing up for some high-speed gate training and taking advantage of some of the better GS terrain offered in the Midwest.

Jan 18-19 - Aspen Highlands, CO - U16+ SG Speed Camp/Race Prep

Followed by two days of USSA/FIS SG races at Aspen Highlands, we will spend two days working through speed techniques and tactis, getting comfortable with the hill, the speed, the terrain, and the elements all essential to be successful in speed before the R/C SG qualifier races. Registration closes midnight, Dec 31, 2017.

Jan 26-28 - Indianhead, MI - Speed Camp

3 days of practicing and implementing the important aspects of speed training, while incorporating a race environment into the third day of camp. This camp precedes the R1 SG Qualifier.

April 7-8 - Granite Peak, Wausau, WI - Skills & Thrills Camp

Wrapping up the season by coming back to the basics in our skiing so we can refresh our skills as we depart from one season and look towards the next.

May 26-27, 2018 - A-Basin, CO - Free-Ski and Drills Camp

Take advantage of a lot of open terrain and mix it up with the athletes and coaches from CO to work on a ton of free-skiing drills, as well as having a chance to ski all over the mountain. It’s a great way to stay fresh, especially for those who may be thinking about Summer skiing at Hood.
