Elite Aerial Development Program

Elite Aerial Development Program

The Elite Aerial Development Program (EADP) is based in Lake Placid, NY.

8-12 EADP athletes receive, from the Olympic Training Center (OTC), complimentary year-round housing, meals, transportation and facility use including a fully staffed sports medicine clinic, weight room, trampoline gym, water ramp facility and winter aerials site.  In 2018 a maximum fee of $2500 will be assessed that includes year-round coaching with 24-hr supervision, trip planning, etc.. High School comes at an additional cost.

Participant ages range from 14 to 19 years old. About half of the group competes throughout North America on the NorAm Tour covering their own winter competition expenses including travel & lodging. The less experienced half of the group jumps in Lake Placid for most of the winter with a focus more on training than competing. This allows them to save money by utilizing the OTC's resources year-round while being able to train more than is typically possible on the Nor-Am Tour. At the end of every winter, the list of the athletes in the EADP is evaluated and potentially changed before a new group is named in the summer after Talent ID Camp. Athletes not meeting their obligations will be removed to make room for more dedicated athletes. Athletes who excel in the EADP will eventually move upward to a domestic program or the national team.

Conditioning Information

To be considered for an invitation, athletes will need to provide some details about their experience in other sports and briefly explain why they would like to try the sport of freestyle aerial skiing. Athletes who excel at the Talent ID camp(s) have a chance to be named to the Elite Aerial Development Program (EADP). Forms need to be filled out and submitted with recruitment registration. Please refer to the Trampoline Routines and Physical Conditioning documents in the Resources section on the right.

Talent Identification Program (TID)

Talent Identification Camp (TID) is held every summer in July either at the Lake Placid jumping facility or at Utah Olympic Park in Park City, UT.

2018 TID Camp will be held in Park City, UT July 22nd-26th.
