Vonn Back on Snow at Vail

By U.S. Ski & Snowboard
November, 28 2013

VAIL, CO (Nov. 28) - Just nine days after crashing in a downhill training run at the U.S. Ski Team Speed Center at Copper, Lindsey Vonn (Vail, CO) was back on snow. The Olympic champion took a few free skiing runs on Vail Mountain early Thanksgiving morning. The session went fine and there were "no issues," according to U.S. Ski Team Head Women's Physician Dr. Bill Sterett of Vail. Thursday's free skiing session together with U.S. Ski Team Coach Jeff Fergus was the first step for Vonn in her comeback to racing. She will not be in the start for Friday's debut of the 2015 World Championships downhill Raptor. The Nature Valley Raptor kicks off with the first speed races of the Audi FIS Alpine World Cup season on Friday with live coverage on NBCSN beginning at 12:30 p.m. EST.

QUOTES
Lindsey Vonn

The first day back on snow since my crash and it was awesome! I'm very thankful for many things this year - family, loved ones, great fans - but at this moment I'm happy to be on the mountain doing what I love - skiing!! Happy thanksgiving everyone! And a special thanks to Vail Mountain for opening the lifts early for me.
