Vinecki and Lillis Land Aerials NorAm Titles
PARK CITY, Utah (March 9, 2016) – The 2016 aerials NorAm Grand Prix champions were crowned this past weekend at the final event of the season on March 5 at the Utah Olympic Park. Winter Vinecki (Salem, OR; EADP) and Chris Lillis (Pittsford, NY; Bristol Mountain Freestyle Team) each took home two podiums on Saturday, landing themselves their first career NorAm aerials titles.
Vinecki took the win in the first women’s competition, landing a lay full for a score of 69.89. Megan Smallhouse (Lake Placid, NY; EADP) was second and Kira Tanghe third. On the men’s side, U.S. Freestyle Ski Team member Nik Seeman (Winter Park, CO; Winter Park Competition Center) posted a score of 111.95 with his full, double full, full to land the win. Lillis was second and Canada’s Lewis Irving third.

Lillis, who returned to the NorAm circuit after a spectacular performance in World Cup finals, landed his third NorAm win of the season in the men’s second competition, performing a full, full, full for a score of 106.51. Seeman and Irving both took home their second podiums of the day, finishing second and third respectively. Megan Nick (Shelburne, VT; EADP) performed a lay, lay for a score of 73.40 to take the win for the women. Vinecki and Tanghe also scored their second podiums of the day, finishing second and third.
In the overall standings, Vinecki walked away with 532 points on the season to take the women’s overall. Nick was second with 475 points and Tanghe third with 442. Lillis topped the men’s standings with 510 points, following by Irving with 426 points and Patrick O’Flynn with 372 points.
