Swensson Fourth in Swedish World Cup

ARE, Sweden (March 16) - Joe Swensson (Killington, VT) went out in the finals but finished fourth in a FIS Freestyle World Cup skicross in Are. It was his best finish since a podium in Val Thorens in December. Alex Fiva of Switzerland took the win with Anna Woerner of Germany victorious for the women. The season wraps up next weekend in Sierra Nevada, Spain.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Joe Swensson (Killington, VT) skied to fourth in a World Cup skicross in Are.
  • Swensson went out in the four-skier final heat after having matched up well with eventual men's winner Alex Fiva of Switzerland in both the quarterfinals and finals.
  • It was Swensson's best finish since a podium in December.
  • John Teller (Mammoth Lakes, CA) went out in qualifying.
  • The season wraps up next weekend in Sierra Nevada, Spain.
