Miller 16th in Lake Louise Downhill
LAKE LOUISE, AB (Nov. 30) – The Audi FIS Alpine World Cup held its men's downhill opener Saturday amid cloudy skies and challenging flat-light conditions. Two-time World Cup overall champion Bode Miller (Franconia, NH) posted the top U.S. Ski Team result in 16th, while Italian Dominik Paris carved up the icy and bumpy course to take the victory. Sunday the men race a super G before returning to America for the Audi Birds of Prey race week in Beaver Creek, CO.

- The Audi FIS Alpine World Cup held its downhill opener Saturday amid cloudy skies and challenging flat-light conditions due to intermittent snow.
- Two-time World Cup overall champion Bode Miller (Franconia, NH) posted the top U.S. Ski Team result in 16th.

- Also earning World Cup points were U.S. Ski Team members Steven Nyman (Sundance, UT) finishing in 19th, Travis Ganong (Squaw Valley, CA) 24th and Erik Fisher (Middleton, ID) 26th.
- Miller is returning to the racing circuit after a year absence and showing promising results with two top-twenty finishes in a row, including Saturday and the Soelden World Cup giant slalom in late October.
- Sunday the men race the Audi FIS Alpine World Cup super G opener, which airs live on Universal Sports at 1:00p.m. EST.

It's bumpy up here. We weren't so lucky with our start numbers in terms of the light, which makes those bumpy sections even more difficult. In general I think we skied okay, but not what we're capable of. We saw that in the training runs earlier in the week with Steven and Marco (Sullivan) both producing great runs along with Bode.
Bode's result was okay. He made some mistakes in a few critical spots and that cost him some time. In general though, I'm happy with the progression he's made after missing all of last season.
