HIGHLIGHTS

  • USSA club team members Keaton McCargo (Telluride, CO) and Thomas Rowley (Telluride, CO) topped the podium Saturday, becoming Jr. World Champs in dual moguls at the 2013 FIS Junior Freestyle Skiing World Championships in Valmalenco, Italy.
  • It was McCargo's second Jr. Champs gold medal. She also won gold in singles moguls on Wednesday.
  • She threw a 360 and back layout on her jumps.
  • Dual moguls skiing has been McCargo’s strength since she started skiing competitively.
  • She was great on the steep course and had the fundamentals to ski fast and aggressively.
  • McCargo was invited to start in the World Cup this year, which gave her a taste of the upper-level competition and helped her in Saturday’s high-pressure atmosphere.
  • Fellow USSA club team member Kaitlyn Harrell (Westminster, CO) took the silver medal, her second of this year’s Jr. World Champs.
  • The FIS Junior Freestyle Skiing World Championships close Sunday with slopestyle.
