March, 18 2012

MEGEVE, France (Mar. 18) – Olympic champion Hannah Kearney (Norwich, VT) capped an historic season Sunday, receiving crystal globes for FIS Freestyle World Cup overall and moguls titles. Kearney hoisted the heavy Joska crystal globes high in a ceremony following the World Cup Finals competition Sunday in Megeve. Kearney, who led the team with 11 wins this season, helped the U.S. Freestyle Ski Team collect the coveted Nations Cup for moguls. Teammates Patrick Deneen (Cle Elum, WA) and Jeremy Cota (Carrabassett Valley, ME) were also honored with second and third place medals

QUOTES
Hannah Kearney

Talking about her newly acquired World Cup Crystal Globes – They are beautiful. It’s a really nice reward for a season of hard work. I think it’s fitting that they weigh so much and are so detailed because it takes a lot to earn them.

Ending with a finish like I had today (Kearney was fifth) leaves me hungry for next season.

Scott Rawles, Moguls Head Coach
It’s been an amazing year. I couldn’t be more proud of the team. Winning the moguls World Cup as a team is incredible. I’m really psyched to be taking that back to the states.

Todd Schriman, Freestyle Program Director
Hannah Kearney was unstoppable this year, rewriting records, winning the moguls and overall freestyle titles - true dominance.

We are fortunate to have such an incredible athlete inspiring a deep U.S. Team and future stars at resorts across America.
