Hendrickson Ends Season With Ninth Win
OSLO, Norway (March 9) - The FIS World Cup season ended as it started for young Sarah Hendrickson (Park City, UT), who soared to victory in the finale at Holmenkollen in Oslo Friday. Hendrickson opened the inaugural World Cup season for women's ski jumpers with a win three months ago in Lillehammer, several hours north. Over the course of three months, Hendrickson won nine of 13 events and established herself as one of the sport's new stars heading into its Olympic debut in 2014. Hendrickson held off a second jump challenge by Japan's Sara Takanashi to win 254.7-250.7 on Holmenkollen's Midstubakken jump.

It has been an amazing season for me. I can’t even put into words how happy and how much fun I have had with everything. It’s going to be a season to remember for sure.
It was a wonderful season. All the girls can agree we had a high level of competition throughout the season and just looking back from last year, the level has gotten a lot higher.
The wind was a little bit all over the place. Judging by the points and wind compensation you can see that. But regardless of the weather you have to jump like you normally do and put that out of your mind. For me, just focusing on the simple things and forgetting about the wind is the only thing you can do.
We have had a very strong team for a number of years. Lindsay Van has been doing this forever and the rest of the team has been around for a little bit too. We all love ski jumping so much and we don’t let anything get in the way of that so we show up to the hill everyday and enjoy the basic elements of ski jumping and I think good results come with that.
Ski jumping is very up and down so next season you never know what is going to happen. There are a number of girls who will be doing well for the next three years so it’s not going to be easy.

I feel one more time amazed about all of my team. I think that I'm going to realize this season in one month because I have too many emotions through the season. This winter everything was perfect - just perfect. And I'm just happy. I want to enjoy this moment.
