VAL D'ISERE, France (Dec. 15) - Heavy overnight snow and a forecast of continued snow throughout the day has canceled the women's Audi FIS Alpine World Cup super G scheduled for Saturday in Val d'Isere. A downhill was successfully ran Friday with Leanne Smith (N. Conway, NH) capturing the first World Cup podium of her career with second. The Best in the World women's speed team has now placed five athletes on the podium this season and holds a 1096-680 point advantage over Switzerland in speed events. A giant slalom is scheduled for Sunday in nearby Courchevel.
