Grand Prix Moves to February

PARK CITY, UT (Dec. 7) – The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) announced a postponement today of its scheduled Dec. 21-22 Sprint U.S. Grand Prix in Park City. The event includes International Ski Federation (FIS) World Cups for both halfpipe skiing and snowboarding events featuring top Olympic contenders. FIS and USSA have postponed the competitions to Feb. 1-2 to ensure the highest quality halfpipe for skiing and snowboarding athletes.

Wed. Jan. 30 – Halfpipe snowboarding qualifying; Paul Mitchell Progression Session
Thu. Jan. 31 – Halfpipe skiing qualifying
Fri. Feb. 1 – Halfpipe snowboarding finals
Sat. Feb. 2 – Halfpipe skiing finals

HIGHLIGHTS

  • The International Ski Federation and U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association have postponed the Dec. 21-22 World Cups in halfpipe skiing and snowboarding at Park City Mountain Resort to Feb. 1-2.
  • The Sprint U.S. Grand Prix features top Olympic athletes competing in Park City’s renowned 22-foot halfpipe.
  • The postponement was made to ensure the best possible halfpipe quality.
  • Under the new schedule, the Sprint U.S. Grand Prix halfpipe events will be held during the day Feb. 1-2, while the Visa Freestyle International the same weekend will feature night events at Deer Valley.
