Fletcher Locks Down Another Top 10

LAHTI, Finland (March 3) - Bryan Fletcher (Steamboat Springs, CO) skied to another impressive top 10 finish of the season in an individual Gundersen FIS Nordic Combined World Cup in Lahti Saturday. Fletcher jumped to fourth then held on in the cross country stage to finish seventh. It was his fourth top 10 of the season. Norway's Jan Schmid took the win. The World Cup will wrap up next weekend with a final event at Holmenkollen in Oslo.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Bryan Fletcher (Steamboat Springs, CO) scored his fourth top 10 of the season finishing seventh.
  • Fletcher continued his strong jumping soaring to fourth.
  • Fletcher skied in podium position much of the race with a pack chasing early leader Tino Edelman
  • In the last kilometer, the pack caught Edelman with Fletcher dropping back to finish 18 seconds behind the winner Jan Schmid.
  • Bryan's brother Taylor (Steamboat Springs, CO) was 26th for his sixth straight point-scoring finish.
  • Olympic champion Billy Demong (Vermontville, NY) took the week off but will return for the finale next week at Holmenkollen in Oslo.
