Feuz, Kroell Tie for Super G Win

KVITFJELL, Norway (March 2) - The Audi FIS Alpine World Cup tour produced a rare double win Friday as Austrian Klaus Kroell tied Beat Feuz of Switzerland for a super G win in Kvitfjell. The victory pushed Feuz passed Austrian Marcel Hirscher, who did not compete, for the overall tour lead by five points. Norwegian Aksel Lund Svindal was fifth to retain his lead in the super G standings, while Andrew Weibrecht (Lake Placid, NY) posted the top U.S. result with 28th.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Swiss Beat Feuz and Austrian Klaus Kroell produced a rare World Cup double win with a super G tie.
  • Feuz moved into the overall World Cup lead by five points over Austrian Marcel Hirscher, who did not race.
  • Norwegian Aksel Lund Svindal retained his super G points lead with fifth.

  • A downhill is slated for Saturday with a second super G on Sunday in Kvitfjell.
