VEYSONNAZ, Switzerland (Mar. 26, 2017) — Jonathan Cheever (Saugus, MA) and Mick Dierdorff (Steamboat Springs, CO) were on the podium at the final team snowboardcross World Cup of the season, with a second-place finish on Sunday.

It was an excellent way for the team to finish the season; the result marked Dierdorff’s first career World Cup podium result and Cheever’s first since taking third at Stoneham in 2012.

Nick Baumgartner (Iron River, MI) and Alex Deibold (Boulder, CO) were fifth, taking the win in the small final. Austria’s Markus Schairer and Alessandro Haemmerle teamed up for the big final win and Chris Robanske and Kevin Hill of Canada rounded out the podium in third.

Rosie Mancari (Anchorage, AK) and Colleen Healey (Plymouth, NH) were the top American finishers for the women, placing eighth.

Italy’s Raffaella Brutto and Michela Moioli took the win for the ladies, Nelly Moenne Loccoz and Choe Trespeuch of France were second and Canada’s Carle Brenneman and Tess Critchlow were third.

For the first time in history, FIS awarded crystal globes for the top overall snowboardcross teams. Italy claimed the title for the men, while the U.S. was third in the standings. France claimed the title for the women, while the U.S. was third in the standings there as well.
