QUOTES

Matt Gnoza, Head Coach, U.S. Freestyle Moguls Ski Team
I see the start of each new season as a new challenge. We have a great team to work with, filled with very talented rookies and veterans, each of which will bring a different set of strengths and skills into competitions.

With all of our recent retirements we will need to come together and work as team. With over 1000 water ramp jumps and 60 days on snow behind us this prep season, I am starting to see this group become a stronger team. Everyone has worked hard in their preparations and I fully expect that work to pay off this season.

Mikaela Matthews
As a team, I think we have been through a lot of changes in the past couple of years. We have a new coaching staff, a lot of our top athletes retired and there are a lot of newer, younger members on the team. We have an amazing new water ramp facility at the Utah Olympic Park and this summer we trained more than ever – both on snow and in the water. Our team is really young right now, but also really talented and I think we can expect to see some amazing results.

We have a World Cup scheduled to take place in downtown Moscow this season. It’s going to be on scaffolding in the middle of the city. I’m excited for that event because it sounds so unique, and I think it will bring a lot of attention to our sport! Of course I’m also excited for the stop in Deer Valley - that’s a favorite every year. It’s so fun to compete on home turf and see such a big crowd turn out for the event.

Bryon Wilson
We’ve all been working really well together as a team, and it would be awesome to take home the Nation’s Cup this season. I’d like to compete with consistency and throw the tricks I worked all summer to perfect. We all put in some great prep work during the off season and I’m excited to see it pay off!
