Stifel U.S. Alpine Ski Team Athletes Press Conference Ahead of the 2023 Stifel Killington Cup on Friday, November 24

WHAT: Stifel U.S. Ski Team athletes, including winningest skier of all-time Mikaela Shiffrin, will participate in a press conference on Friday, November 24. Details TBA.

STIFEL KILLINGTON CUP KEY FACTS:

• This is the seventh year that Killington Resort has hosted FIS women's World Cup giant slalom and slalom events. 
• Mikaela Shiffrin has won FIVE FIS World Cup slalom races held at Killington.
• The Stifel Killington Cup is broadcast in more than 60 countries.
• More than five kilometers of safety fence are utilized on the race hill.
• The Stifel Killington Cup had its largest single-day attendance record on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2019 with 19,500 spectators for the giant slalom event.
• The first Stifel Killington Cup event in 2016 was the first FIS Ski World Cup held in the eastern USA since 1991 at Waterville Valley, NH, and the first in Vermont since 1978 at Stratton Mountain.
• More than 300 volunteers support the Killington Cup.
• It takes about 100 hours of snowmaking to prepare the World Cup venue.
• More than 15 million gallons of water are used to cover Superstar Trail with three to five feet of snow.
• Superstar Trail is 4,800 feet long, and drops 1,200 verticle feet with a pitch of 30 to 50 degrees.
