2022 Toyota U.S. Grand Prix at Mammoth Mountain Virtual Media Hub

January 6-9, 2022

Welcome to the 2022 Toyota U.S. Grand Prix – FIS World Cup Freeski & Snowboard Halfpipe and Slopestyle event at Mammoth Mountain, California! This will be the final qualifying event for the 2022 Olympics with the team naming following the event. Mammoth has hosted the Grand Prix more than a dozen times, and has been fortunate enough to name the Olympic athletes three times including in 1988 – the first year the Olympics hosted snowboard halfpipe as an official event. Mammoth also hosted the final qualifying event before the 2014 and 2018 Olympic Winter Games.

  • The 2022 Toyota U.S. Grand Prix at Mammoth is one of four U.S. Olympic snowboard qualifying events and one of six U.S. Olympic Freeski qualifying events for the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022.

  • The Toyota U.S. Grand Prix is the longest-running winter action sports tour and has served as a major part of the U.S. Freeski Team and U.S. Snowboard Team Olympic qualification series since 1998, launching Olympic medalists including Chloe Kim, Jamie Anderson, Red Gerard, Shaun White, David Wise and Nick Goepper toward medals.
  • This competition will serve as the final domestic 2021-22 Halfpipe and Slopestyle qualifying events bringing the best athletes in the world to debut their latest tricks ahead of the 2022 Winter Olympics
  • The event will take place in the Unbound Terrain Park - Main Park for Slopestyle and the 22-foot Superpipe.
  • Halfpipe will be two run qualifiers, with 10 men and 10 women advancing into a three run final—best run counts. 
  • Slopestyle will be two run qualifiers, with 16 men and 8 women advancing into a two run final—best run counts. 
  • There will be a spectator zones and fans are encouraged to attend. The event will also be broadcast live on Peacock, with a rebroadcast on CNBC.
  • The U.S. Olympic Team Naming will stream live on Saturday, Jan 8, from 10:00pm- 11:00pm on the U.S. Ski  Snowboard Facebook Page.
