Madie Varmette scored eight top-10 finishes on the NorAm tour in 2016-17, including two wins, to take the overall title and land herself a spot on the U.S. Ski Team. She started off the 2017-18 season with a win at Selections and then went on to secure a 6th place finish as the Deer Valley World Cup. A product of U.S. Ski & Snowboard's Elite Aerial Development Program, Varmette is one of the young talented jumpers on the women's team.

FIRST TRACKS
Madison Kai was born in Hawaii but grew up in Virginia. Varmette got her start in aerials via the Novak Gymnastics Center where she competed in power tumbling and trampolining, before switching to cheerleading. On Varmette's 16th birthday, just before receiving an invitation to try out for the Elite Aerial Development Program, she experienced a neurological attack in her spinal cord and was diagnosed with Transverse Myelitis. Subsequently, Varmette not only learned to walk again, she trained back into shape and earned a spot in the EADP that same year.

OFF THE SNOW
When not on snow, Varmette dog sits, house sits and babysits, as well as studies for school. For fun she likes to hang out with friends and travel whenever she gets the chance.
